About the PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Residency

The purpose of the PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Residency Program is to develop an expert-level evidence-based knowledge base in the area of chronic disease management, implement and manage new areas of pharmacy practice in the outpatient environment, conduct research in practical areas of ambulatory care pharmacy practice, become an expert in the education of learners of pharmacy and other professions, and to become a highly skilled professional leader in the field of ambulatory care pharmacy.

After completion of this residency, the graduate will be able to:

  • Establish an ambulatory care practice site
  • Establish a teaching service for pharmacy students and residents
  • Prepare and present didactic lectures and seminars
  • Conduct scholarly research

Texas A&M Health Family Care Clinic
The clinic is part of Texas A&M University’s important commitment to improving the health of people of the Brazos Valley. Of the building's approximately 32,000 square feet, Texas A&M Health Family Care occupies about 20,500 square feet. The space is used for a comprehensive family medicine clinic and for the education of family medicine residents, medical and pharmacy students, as well as students in other health professions. The clinic includes an in-house lab, radiology suite, endoscopy suite, classroom, administrative offices and a dedicated resident space.

How to Apply

Qualifications of the Resident

  • Doctor of Pharmacy
  • Successful completion of an ASHP Accredited PGY-1 residency
  • Eligible for Texas pharmacy license

Prior to application submission applicant must complete one of the following, REQUIRED

  • Appointment through Personnel Placement Services (PPS) at ASHP Midyear
  • Telephone interview
