Biography

Teaching & Mentoring Philosophy

Dr. Okeke's teaching philosophy centers on creating an engaging, student-focused learning environment where students understand not only what they are learning, but why it matters and how they will apply it in practice. She uses active learning, clinical application, and connections between foundational science and patient care to help students build confidence in complex material.

Her mentoring philosophy is grounded in meeting students where they are while helping them identify where they want to go. She views mentorship as an opportunity to support students' academic, professional, and personal development through goal setting, reflection, encouragement, and access to resources and opportunities. Her goal as an educator and mentor is to create an environment where students feel supported, challenged, and empowered to take ownership of their growth.
