This scholarship was founded in loving memory of Dr. Javier (Javi) Saenz by Nicholas Saenz and Monica Saenz.  Dr. Saenz was a graduate of the Class of 2015 from Texas A&M Irma Lerma Rangel School of Pharmacy.  He served as president of the Pharmacy Student Council and held membership in numerous other organizations during his tenure at the college. This scholarship is available to the president of the Texas A&M Irma Lerma Rangel School of Pharmacy Student Council President for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be the School of Pharmacy Student Council President
  • If the scholarship is awarded to a Student Council President as a P2 student, and that student remains the Student Council President for their P3 year, the scholarship would then be awarded to the next in line on the Student Council Executive Committee
  • In the event the School of Pharmacy no longer has a Student Council, this scholarship should be awarded to a P3 student from the Rio Grande Valley who has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service

Submission Requirements

  • Applicants must write a one-page essay that indicates why the scholarship is needed and what your future goals are as a pharmacist.  In addition, please summarize your academic achievement, and extracurricular activities.

The required supporting documents for each scholarship must be uploaded at the time the completed application is submitted in order to be considered. 

Please submit your application and supporting materials by 5:00 PM on  February 1st, 2024. Scholarship recipients will be notified by May 2024 and funds will be disbursed at the start of the 2024-2025 academic year.
